abstractIn this paper, a new species of the genus Laelaspis is described and figured.
Laelaspis digitalis, sp. nov. (figs. 1-3)
This new species is allied to Laelaspis astronomicus (Koch), but in its female, the digits of chela are stout, the movable digit bears only one tooth, the marginal setae (M1-M11) of dorsal plate are simple and not strong, the margin of sternal plate is not heavily sclerotized, and the genito-ventral plate is gradually expanded behind coxae IV.
Holotype ♀, collected off Cricetulus barabensis Pallas in July, 1970, from Morin Dawa (48° N, 124° E) Hulun Boir Meng, Inner Mongolia; Paratype 1♀, same as forholotype. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
