| abstract | Neotrombicula deqinense, sp. nov. (figs. 1-4)
Idiosoma of engorged larva 548×391µ. Galeal setae nude, palpal formula B-B-NNB+7B, palpal claw 3-forked. Scutum nearly pentagonal in shape, with shoulders, anterior margin almost rectilinear, posterior margin broadly rounded, surface scattered with punctations. Sensillae filamentous, distal 3/4 with 9-13 long barbs, proximal 1/4 nude. PL>AM~AL. Eyes 2+2, with ocular plate. Dorsal setae 54-66 in number, irregularly arranged, 2,9-14,..., in holotype 2-9-2-12-2-10-10-4-3=54. Ventral setae 49-59 in number, sternal setae 2-2, coxal setae 1-1-1. Legs with specialized setae as figured. Standard measurements: AW=83, PW=102, SB=32, ASB=35, PSB=34,SD=69, AP=32, AM=48, AL=47, PL=61, Sn=80, HS=60, IP=890.
Hosts: Microtus ireni and Eothenomys custos. Locality: Deqin County, Yunnan Province, V, 1965.
Holotype larva; paratypes 7 larvae; all deposited in the Control and Research Institute of Epidemic Diseases of Yunnan Province. |
