abstractAskinasia antillarum sp.n. (Acari: Ewingiidae) is described from the hermit crab Coenobita clypeata, from 3 localities in the lesser Antilles and Florida, USA. A new genus Kanekobia gen.n. of the same family is created for Ewingia potamona Kaneko & Kadosaka described from a fresh.water crab, Potamon dehaani in Japan. The species Ewingia cenobitae Pearse is recorded from a second locality.
