| abstract | In this paper, a new species of the genus Rhyzolaelaps is deseribed and figured. Type specimens are deposited in the Department of parasitology, Guiyang Medical College.
Rhyzolaelaps lodianensis, sp. nov.
This new species resembles Rhyzolaelaps inaequipilis Bregetova et Grokhovskaja, 1961, but in the female, it differs from the latter by: (1) posterior margin of sternal plate concave and wavy; (2) setae on the inner lamella of hypostome longer and different in shape; (3) Without modified seta on the trochanter of palp; (4) distal end of pilus dentilis curved; (5) basal portion of transparent structure among the chela wider; (6) tarsus of leg II bearing 2 claw-like setae.
Holotype (♀), allotype (♂) and paratypes. (18♀♀, 4♂♂, 5 protonymphs) off Rhizomys pruinosus latouchei Thomas, in August 1976 from Guizhou Province. |
