abstractThe present paper deals with three Chinese species of Haemaphysalis subgenus Alloceraea. They are H. (A.) inermis Birula, H. (A.) aponommoides Warburton and H(A.) primitiva, sp. nov.
Haemaphysalis (Alloceraea) primitiva, sp. nov.
This new species is easily distinguished from the known species of subgenus Alloceraea by its exceptionally large, elliptic spiracular plates and the well developed and pointed internal spurs of its coxae.
Holotype female, unengorged, taken while sweeping vegetation, Pengxian County(31° N, 104° E), Sichuan Province, May 1957. Deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
