abstractSinolaelaps wuyiensis, sp. nov.
Female: Body measuring 0.69-0.71×0.54-0.57 µm. Scutum covering almost all of dorsum, bearing 39 pairs of setae. S8 measuring 0.016-0.026 µm, M11 measuring 0.10 µm. D5 almost at the same level as D6. Deutosternum with seven rows of teeth. Sternal plate wider than long, with sharp anterolateral angles and obtuse posterolateral angles. Genitoventral plate measuring 0.337-0.338 µm, expanded behind coxae IV,with 4 pairs of ventral setae, Vl2 spiniform. Anal plate triangular.
This new species differs from Sinolaelaps typhlomydis Gu et Wang by having posteroventral angles on sternal plate and with more straight posterior margin, genito-ventral plate distinctly longer than wide and the length and width of anal plate nearly equal (figs.1-5).
Holotype female and paratypes 2♀♀, ex Typhlomys cinereus cinereus, from Guadun (27°44.1ʼ N, 117°38.2ʼ E), Wuyi Mountain Nature Preserve, Fujian Province, August 1980, deposited in Fujian Research Institute of Epidemic Diseases.
Revision of the generic characters of Sinolaelaps:
Median sized, broad-ovate mites. Dorsal plate with 39 pairs of setae, D5 almost at the same level as D6. Genitoventral plate expanded behind coxa IV, Vl2 spiniform. Coxa III with a spiniform seta near posterior margin. The anterior margin of each tarsus with two densely chitinized areas.
