abstractThe present paper describes a new species of the subgenus Siseca found in Hubei Province. The subgenus Siseca is recorded for the first time from China.
Eutrombicula (Siseca) hubeica, sp. nov.
Diagnosis of larvae; This new species differs from all other species of the subgenus Siseca in the following characteristics: (1) AM seta distinctly in front of AL, (2) PL:AL being about 2, (3) number and arrangement of VS.
Description: Idiosoma broad oval in shape, yellowish in color. Scutum large, subquadrate in shape, slightly larger in width than in length, densely punctate, with somewhat elongate posterior margin and distinct anterolateral shoulders. Sensillary bases widely separated, much nearer to AL than to PL, sensilla filamentous, with fine branches on its distal half. AN distinctly in front of AL. Standard measurements see Chinese text.
Holotype and 25 paratypes collected in August and September, 1964 from nests of unknown host in the field of Wuchang City, Hubei Province, China. Holotype and one paratype deposited in Shanghai First Medical College, and the other paratypes in Hubei Medical College.
