| abstract | A new species of the genus Trombiculindus from Yunnan Province is described as follows:
Trombiculindus (Trombiculindus) alpinus, sp. nov. (figs. 1-4)
Idiosoma of engorged specimen 437-548µ long and 315-409µ wide. Galeal setae branched. Palpal setae N-N-BNN-7B. Palpal claw trifurcate. Scutum broader than long, ratio of SD to PW about 1:2.1, surface with fine punctations. PL leaf-like, about 4 times as long as broad. Dorsal setae 30-31 in number, arranged in 4(5)-8(9)-6-6-4-2. Sternal setae 2-2; ventral setae 27-34 in number, the two pairs on posterior margin leaf-like, others plumose. Coxal setae 1-1-1. Standard measurements on the average of 7 specimens as follows (in µ): AW=82, PW=101, SB=49, ASB=30, PSB=19, AP=20, AM=65, AL=41, PL=70×15, Sn= -, HS=71×3, DS=69×13-47×9, VS=42-43×5, IP=778.
Holotype and 6 Paratypes, larvae, were collected from ears of Apodemus sylvaticus orestes in May, 1975. Type specimens are deposited in the Control and Research Institute of Epidemic Diseases of Yunnan Province. |
