| abstract | Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) densipunctatum, sp. nov. (figs. 1-4)
Body orange red when alive, elongated oval, unengorged larvae 480-577×433-525µ. Cheliceral blade 38-41µ long. Galeal seta plumose, with 12-15 barbs. Palpal setae N-N-BNN+7B, palpal claw 3-pronged. Scutum rectangular in shape, with dense punctae on its surface, medial part of posterior margin nearly straight or slightly concave, PL>AM>AL. SB in line of PLs, occasionally slightly anterior. Sensillae filamentous, with minute barbs on proximal 1/3 and 16-18 long branches on distal 2/3. Eyes 2+2 on ocular plate. Dorsal setae 28-30, mostly 30 in number, arranged as 2-8-6-6(5)-4-2(3)-2(0). Ventral setae 27-35 in number. Legs 7-segmented, specialized setae as figured.
Holotype, larva, ex Rattus nitidus, from western Yunnan, 26°30ʼ N, 99°56ʼ E, August 19, 1975. Paratypes 9: 5 with same data as holotype, 3 ex Eothenomys miletus, 1 ex Rattus niviventer confucianus.
Allied to L. (L.) pakistanum V.-G. et Langston, 1976, but differs in (1) scutum with dense punctations, (2) scutum different in shape and measurements, (3) scutal and dorsal setae with scattered short barbs, (4) sensillae with only 16-18 long branches on distal 2/3, IP <800µ.
Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) hiemalis sp. nov. (figs. 5-8)
Body orange red when alive, elongated oval, unengorged larvae 250-255×193-208µ, engorged larvae 375-410×300-302µ. Cheliceral blade 30-33µ long. Galeal seta plumose, with 11-14 barbs. Palpal setae N-N-BNN+7B, palpal claw 3-pronded. Scutum rectangular in shape, with punctae, medial part of posterior margin nearly straight or slightly concave, PL~AM>AL. SB posterior to the level of PLs. Sensillae filamentous, with minute barbs on proximal 1/3 and 15-18 long branches on distal 2/3. Eyes 2+2 on ocular plate. Dorsal setae 34-36 in number, arranged as 2-8-6-6(7,8)-6(7)-4-0(4)-2. Ventral setae 34-41 in number. Legs 7-segmented, with specialized setae as figured.
Holotype and 8 paratypes, larvae, ex Eothenomys miletus, from western Yunnan, December, 1976; one more paratype, larva, ex Rattus nitidus.
Allied to L. (L.) delimushi V.-G. et Langston, 1976, but differs in: (1) SB posterior to the level of PLs, (2) scutum different in shape and measurements, AW/AP=2.82, (3) tarsala I>II, (4) dorsal and ventral setae more in number, PL~AM.
Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) saltuosum, sp. nov. (figs. 9-12)
Body orange red when alive, elongated oval, partly engorged larva 463×347µ, engorged larva 560×438µ. Cheliceral blade 39-43µ long. Galeal seta plumose, with 14-16 barbs. Palpal setae N-N-N(b)NB+7B, palpal claw 3-pronged. Scutum rectangular in shape, with punctae, medial part of posterior margin slightly concave, PL>AM>AL, SB in line of PLs. Sensillae lost. Eyes 2+2 on ocular plate. Dorsalsetae 51-54 in number, arranged as 4-12-12-2-10-2-7-2=51, 4-14-10-2-11-2-8-3=54. Ventral setae 42-43 in number. Legs 7-segmented, with specialized setae as figured.
Holotype and 1 paratype, larvae, ex Apodemus latronum, from western Yunnan, 26°30ʼ N, 99°56ʼ E, May 7, 1975.

Body orange red when alive, elongated oval, unengorged larvae 230-308×183-230µ, engorged larva 428×355µ. Cheliceral blade 37-42µ long. Galeal seta plumose, with 12-15 barbs. Palpal setae N-N-N(b)NB+7B, palpal claw 3-pronged. Scutum rectangular in shape, with punctae, medial part of posterior margin nearly straight or slightly concave. AM>PL>AL. SB in level of, or occasionally slightly anterior to PLs. Sensillae filamentous, with minute barbs on proximal 1/3 and 19-22 long branches on distal 2/3. Eyes 2+2 on ocular plate. Dorsal setae 59-71 in number, irregularly arranged as 2-13(12,14,16)-12(13,15)-......, in holotype arranged as 2-13-12-12-12-2-4-2=59. Ventral setae 50-58 in number. Legs 7-segmented, with specialized setae as figured.
Holotype and 3 paratypes, larvae, ex Rupestes forresti, from Mt. Ejingshan, Jianchuan County, Yunnan August 10, 1975, 6 more paratypes, larvae, ex Apodemus sylvaticus orestes and A. latronum.
Allied to L. (L.) rupestre Traub et Nadchatram, 1967, but differs in: (1) sensillae with minute barbs on proximal 1/3, (2) scutum and dorsal and ventral setae different in measurements.
Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) jianshanense, sp.nov. (figs. 17-20)
Body pale yellow when alive, elongated oval, unengorged larvae 242-262×193-203µ, engorged larvae 445-523×338-430µ. Cheliceral blade 37-40µ long. Galeal seta plumose, with 11-14 barbs. Palpal setae N-N-BNN+7B, palpal claw 3-pronged. Scutum rectangular in shape, with punctae, posterior margin broadly rounded or with medial part slightly straight. PL>AM>AL. SB posterior to the level of PLs. Sensillae filamentous, with 14-18 long branches on distal 3/4 and proximal 1/4 nude. Eyes 2+2 on ocular plate. Dorsal setae 31-34 in number, in holotype arranged as 2-8-6-6-6-2-2=32. Ventral setae 25-29 in number. Legs 7-segmented, with specialized setae as figured.
Holotype, larva, ex Eothenomys miletus, from Jianchuan County, Yunnan, May 21, 1975. Paratypes 9: 7 with same data as holotype, 2 ex E. miletus, in July and December, 1975.
Allied to L. (L.) scutellare (Nagayo et al., 1921), but with less dorsal and ventral setae, longer palpal claw, and dorsal setae in different arrangement.
