Diagnosis: The new subgenus is characterized by a pair of scutal setae inserted between the sensillae bases.

Idiosoma oval, measuring 233-378µ in length and 168-296µ in greatest width. Galeal setae nude, palpal setae formula: B-B-NNB+4B, palpal claws trifurcate. Scutum nearty elongate pentagonal in shape, with fine punctations. Scutal setae 15-20, including 2AL, 2PL, 2IS and 9-14 PPL. Sensillae with head subovate. Dorsal setae 36-46 in number, arranged in holotype: 4-6-6-8-6-6-4-2=42. Ventral setae 48-60 in number. Sternal setae 2 pairs. Coxal setae formula 1-1-1. Legs with solenidions as figured. Standard measurements (in µ): AW=48, PW=77, SB=45, ASB=23, PSB=131, AP=35, AL=37, PL=46, IS=60, Sn=37×10.
Holotype and 9 paratypes collected in 1972 from Mus famulus, Rattus nitidus and Crocidura attenuata from Yunnan Province. All deposited in the Control and Research Institute of Epidemic Diseases of Yunnan Province. |
