abstractHaemogamasus nanpingensis, sp. nov.
Holotype (♀) and paratype (1♀) were collected from Nanping County of Sichuan Province in June 1979 off Uropsilus soricipes Milne-Edwards and deposited in Sichuan Anti-Epidemic & Health Station.
This new species is closely related to H. suncus Allred and H. emeiensis Zhou, but differs from them in (1) sterna1 plate with 4-5 accesory setae and 2 pairs of lyriform organ, (2) peritrematal plate extending to anterior level of coxae I, (3) all coxal setae plumose.
Haemogamasus nanpingensis has a few characters in common with H. suncus and H. emeiensis, such as short peritrematal canal, quadrate sternal plate, and forceps-like chela, and these can be readily distinguished from the other species in the genus. So it is worthy to consider them as a species group - the emeiensis-group.
