abstractThree species of gamasoid mites were collected off Petaurista alborufus Milne-Edwards from Guizhou Province, one is Hirstionyssus trogopteri Teng et Pan, and the other two are found to be new to science. All type materials are deposited in the Department of Parasito-logy, Guiyang Medical College.
1. Haemolaelaps cehengensis, sp. nov.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 36♀♀ 6♂♂ and 6 deutonymphs and 1 proto-nymph were collected off Petaurista alborufus Milne-Edwards from Ceheng County (24°58’ N, 105°48’ E), Guizhou Province, on Aug. 6-19, 1980.
The new species closely resembles Haemolaelaps petauristae Gu et Wang, 1980, but differs in: (1) the dorsal plate with one more accessory seta, the accessory setae being only half as long as S8 and smaller than those of H. petauristae, which are subequal to S8; (2) the ventral and the central setae on the dorsal plate smaller than those of H. petauristae; (3) the genitoventral plate wider than that of the latter species; and (4) the basal portion of pilus dentilis less inflated than in the latter species.
2. Haemolaelaps minutiventralis, sp. nov.
Holotype ♀ and paratypes 2♀♀ were collected off Petaurista alborufus Milne-Edwards from Ceheng County (24°58’ N, 105°48’ E), Guizhou Province, on Aug. 6, 1980.
The new species resembles Haemolaelaps chinensis Wang, 1963, and differs in: (1) idiosoma smaller than that of H. chinensis; (2) the posterior margin of sternal plate concave rather than convex as in H. chinensis; (3) the genitoventral plate small, with its posterior margin not reaching to the level of Vl3, 85 µm in width, while that of the latter species reaching beyond the level of Vl3, 124 µm in width; (4) the anal plate wider than long, while that of H. chinensis as wide as long or longer than wide; (5) the metapodal plate very long and slender, sausage-shaped.
