| abstract | The present paper describes two new species of Phytoseiidae from China. Type speciemens are deposited in the Guangdong Institute of Entomology.
Amblyseius (Amblyseius) striatus, sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)
This species resembles A. (A.) barkeri (Hughes) and A. (A.) salish Chant, but differs from barkeri in the relative length of dorsal setae being shorter and setae Z4 and Z5 without minute barbs, and from salish in the dorsal shield being smooth instead of lightly reticulated and the fixed digit of chelicera with five teeth and one pilus dentilis instead of only 2-3 teeth, and from both in the shape of spermatheca.
Holotype ♀, paratype 1♀, Laiyang, Shandong Province, VI. 1979, on apple tree, collected by Zhang Sen.
Phytoseius (Dubininellus) vaginatus, sp. nov. (figs. 6-10)
This species near to P. (D.) neglecta Gupta and P. (D.) intermedium Evans et Macfarlane, but differs from the two latter species in the relative lengths of s4, s6, and Z5, in the J5 with minute serration, and in the shape of spermatheca.
Holotype ♀, Mt. Jinggang, Jiangxi Province, 26. VI. 1980, on Rhus chinensis Mill, collected by Wu Wei-nan. Paratypes 5♀♀, data same as the holotype; 6♀♀, Meiling, Nanchang, on bamboo. |
