abstractA revised concept of the oc.cidentalis species group in the genus Typhlodromus Scheuten is proposed. Concepts of the group proposed by various earlier authors are reviewed. Keys are provided to the adult females of the eight species in the group, including a new species (T. annectens De Leon, T. ferrugineus (De Leon), T. helveolus Chant, T. longipilus Nesbitt, T. occidentalis Nesbitt, T. porresi McMurtry . T. superstus (Zack), and T. deceptus n. sp.). and each is described. Typhlodromus gratus Chant is designated as a junior synonym of T. helveolus.
