| abstract | In the present paper a new species of the genus Haemaphysalis and the male of Haemaphysalis primitiva Teng, 1982 are described.
Haemaphysalis (Kaiseriana) anomaloceraea Teng, sp. nov.
The new species is closely allied to H. anomala Warburton, 1913, but can be distinguished from the latter by the following characters: palpal segment 3 with a definite dorsal spur on the inner 1/3 of its posterior margin, the spurs of coxae IV long and subequal (inner spur much shorter than outer), spiracular plate suboval in shape, and scutum with punctations also in median area posteriorly.
Holotype ♂, taken while sweeping vegetation, Lushui County (25°N, 98°E), Yunnan Province, June 1982. Deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
