abstractThis paper reports two new spedes of Amblyseius from Yunnan Province, China. Measurements are in micrometers. The type specimens are deposited in the Guangdong Institute of Entomology.
Amblyseius (Amblyseius) densus, sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)
This species is close to Amblyseius kalimpongensis Gupta 1969, but the macrosetae on leg IV are three in this species, as against one on basitarsus in kalimpongensis; the dorsal shield is reticulated in this species but smooth in kalimpongensis; the ratio of length to width of ventrianal shield is 75:52.5 in this species, but 80:45 in kalimpongensis; and the shape of spermatheca is different in these two species.
Male: Unknown.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 10♀♀, VI. 1981, from Longchuan and Lancang Counties, on Paeonia sp. and Prunus persica Batsch., by Qian Xing.
Amblyseius (Amblyseius) yunnanensis, sp. nov. (figs. 6-10)
This species resembles Amblyseius polyantheae Gupta and Amblyseius jarooa Gupta, but setae L9 and M2 are provided with barbs in this species, not smooth as in A. polyantheae; setae L9, M2, L4, D1 and L1 are longer in this species than in A. polyantheae; macrosetae on leg IV: genu 67.5 and tibia 50 in this species, but 53 and 38 in A. jarooa; and the shape of spermatheca differs from one another in these species.
Male: Unknown.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 2♀♀, 15.VI. 1981, from Yingjiang County, on Mangifera indica L, collected by Qian Xing.
