Diagnosis. Palpal setae B/B/NBB/4B, galeal setae almost nude (often with 1-2 fine barbs). One mastigenuala and one mastitibala on leg III. NDV<100; IP=858. This new species is similar to R. tsaochiensis (Chen et Hsu, 1963), but differs in the measurements of scutum, SD=47 instead of 55, AM=AL instead of AM
This species is also close to R. tibbettsi V-G., 1964, but differs in: sternal setae 2-2; one mastigenuala and one mastitibala on leg III; AM=AL; body setae and scutal setae shorter; galeal setae almost nude (often with 1-2 fine barbs).
Holotype and 8 paratypes collected from a bat (Rhinolophus sp.) on July 27, 1981, in Nanling-Monntain Range, Guangdong Province, deposited in the Health and Anti-Epidemic Station of Guangdong Province, China. |
