abstractUp to now there are two species of Macronyssus and two species of Ichoronyssus recorded in China: Macronyssus coreanus (Ah, 1964), M. tieni (Grokhovskaya et Nguan-Hoe, 1961), Ichoronyssus xiandensis Zhou et al., 1982 and I. ventralis Wen, 1975. According to the characters of the genera (Radovsky, 1967), the latter two species should be placed in Macronyssus, as Macronyssus xianduensis (Zhou, et al., 1982) n. comb., and I. ventralis should be the synonym of Macronyssus tieni (Grokhovskaya et Nguan-Hoe, 1961). Thus, only three species of Macronyssus and none of Ichoronyssus had been recorded before. The present paper deals with 4 species of Macronyssus and Ichoronyssus: M. miraspinosus and M. zhijinensis are new to science, M. flavus (Kolenati, 1856) and Ichoronyssus scutatus (Kolenati, 1856) are recorded for the first time in China. A key to the known Chinese species of the genus Macronyssus is appended. The type materials are deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College.
1. Ichoronussus scutatus (Kolenati, 1856)
The first and only record of this genus in China. Specimens: 10 females 4 males and 7 nymphs were collected off Myotis myotis chinensis (Tomes), in 1977 (VI 8), from Xingyi County (104°45ʼE, 25°9ʼN), Guizhou Province
2. Macronyssus flavus (Eolenati, 1856)
The first record in China. Specimens; 10 females 3 males and 5 nymphs were collected off Nyctalus noctula, Schreber, in 1963 (VIII. 2), from Chungjiang County (109°5ʼE, 25°56ʼN), Guizhou Province.
3. Macronyssus miraspinosus sp. nov.(figs. 1-3)
Holotype female, paratype one female were collected off Myotis Myotis chinesis (Tomes), in June, 1977 from Xingyi County (104°45ʼE, 25°9ʼN), Guizhou Province.
This new species is similar to Macronyssus coreanus (Ah, 1964), but differs from the latter in: 1) postero-lateral margin of dorsal plate straight and posterior end rounded, whereas those of the latter species concave and truncate; 2) dorsal plate with 26 pairs of setae, M10 absent and with I, S6 and D6, whereas the latter species with 24 pairs of setae, with long M10 and I, S6, D6 absent; 3) bare portion of ventral part bearing 40 setal pairs, while in the latter species only 20 setal pairs; 4) the fixed digit of chela with particular spines.
4. Macronyssus zhijinensis sp. nov.(figs. 4-6)
Holotype female was collected off Ia longimana Peri, in August, 1977 from Zhijin County (105°46ʼE, 26°40ʼN), Guizhou Province.
This new species resembles Macronyssus granulosus (Kolenati, 1856), but distinguished from the latter by: 1) among 27 pairs of dorsal setae, the new species with M4, M5 and lacking S6, M10, but converse in the latter species; 2) posterior margin of sternal plate of the latter species more deeply concave, reaching the level of St2, whereas that of the new species reaching the middle of St3 and St2; 3) ratio of length and width of tibia being 1:1 in the new species and 1.5:1 in the latter species; 4) the shape of chela is different.
