| abstract | In this paper three new species of the genus Dipolaelaps are described and figured. All holotype specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, and all paratype specimens deposited in the Health and Anti-Epidemic Station of Shanxi Province.
1. Dipolaelaps taibaiensis sp. nov.(figs. 1-6)
This new species is allied to Dipolaelaps hoi Chang et Hsu, but in its female, there are only two pairs of setae on the sternal plate, and the postanal seta is shorter than the adanal setae.
Holotype ♀, collected off Anourosorex squamipes Milne-Edwards in Aug., 1982, from Fangyang Si (alt. 2,800m), Mt. Taibai (34° N, 107°43ʼ E), Shanxi Province.
2. Dipolaelaps soriculi sp. nov. (figs. 7-12, pl. II-4)
It is closely related to D. taibaiensis, but its dorsal plate is different in shape and the ratio of Ad to PA is different.
Holotype ♀, collected off Soriculus hypsibius de Winton in May, 1983, from Jiaoja Gou (alt. 900m), Ningshan County (33°23ʼ N, 108°20ʼ E), Shanxi Province. Paratypes 4♀♀, data same as for holotype.
3. Dipolaelaps longisetosus sp. nov. (figs. 13-18)
This new species differs from all the known species of the genus by the longer setae F3, T1, S1 and those on its venter.
Holotype ♀ and paratype 1♀, collected off Soriculus hypsibius de Winton in May, 1983, from Jiaoja Gou (alt 900m), Ningshan County (33°23ʼ N, 108°20ʼ E), Shanxi Province.
Scanning electron microphotographs of D. soriculi sp. nov. are shown in plate I. |
