abstractThe present paper describes a new species of mite collected from a bat, Bhinolophus ferrumequinum in Jinxi, Liaoning Province in May, 1976.
Macronyssus tashanensis sp. nov. (figs. 1-8)
This new species is related to Macronysms flavus (Kolenati), but in female its dorsal plate with 27 setal pairs (S6 lacking), the ratio of Sc:D3 about 3:1, each sternal gland composed of 7 or 8 short and wide curved striae in radial pattern, and movable digit of chela broader.
Holotype (female) and one of paratypes (female) are deposited in Health & Anti-Epidemic Station of Liaoning Province. Another paratype (female) is deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
