abstractThis paper deals with a new species, Mixacarus tianmuensis sp. nov. of the family Lohmanniidae and two newly recorded species, Punctoribates manzanoensis Hammer, 1958 and P. longiporsus Balogh, 1963, of the family Mycobatidae from China.
Mixacarus tianmuensis sp. nov.
This new species resembles Mixacarus exilis Aoki, 1970. They can be readily distinguished by the following features: M. tianmuensis larger (713-718µ) than M. exilis (605-635µ); the pectination of the sensillum of M. tianmuensis which is half as long as the sensillum longer than that of M. exilis; on prodorsum, the posterior ribbon-like transverse band connecting the insertion pores of the interlamellar setae in M. tianmuensis, but that in M. exilis situated a little posterior to the insertions of interlamellar setae; on notogaster, the ribbon-like transverse band S8 interrupted and S10 complete in M. tianmuensis but S8 complete and S10 interrupted in M. exilis. The differences between M. vanhonggui Mahunka, 1973 and M. tianmuensis are: the ribbon-like transverse bands on notogaster of M. vanhonggui like those of M. exilis but not as those of M. tianmuensis, and the setal formula on genital plates of M. vanhonggui being 4-6-6-4 and that of M. tianmuensis 3-7-7-3.
