| abstract | In this paper, three new species of the genus Amblyseius from Hubei, Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces are described. The type specimens are deposited in the Guangdong Institute of Entomology.
Amblyseius (Amblyseius) repletus sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)
This species is similar to Amblyseius hinoki Ehara, 1972, but differs from hinoki in the relative length of the dorsal setae being a little longer, especially in that L, is three times as long as the later, and in the shape of spermatheca.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 8♀♀, Shen Nong Jia (31°40ʼ N,110°40ʼ E), Hubei Province, VIII. 1981, on Rhus sp., Vitis adstricta Hance, and Prunus salicina, Lindl., collected by the authors.
Amblyseius (Amblyseius) brevicervix sp. nov. (figs. 6-10)
This species near to Amblyseius tsugawai Ehara, 1959 and Amblyseius charui Gupta, 1969, but differs from the latter two species in the preanal pore in a transverse line with the posterior pair of preanal setae, in the setae M2 and L9 longer, in the setee M2 longer than I4, and also in the shape of spermatheca.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 3♀♀, Mt Emei (29°30ʼ N, 103°30ʼ E) 3000 m, Sichuan Province, 3. VIII. 1982, on Tanacetum vulgare L., collected by Li Zhao-quan.
Amblyseius (Amblyseius) ruiliensis sp. nov. (figs. 11-14)
This species near to Amblyseius utilis Liang et Ke, 1983, Amblyseius querci Loang et Ke, 1983 and Amblyseius alstoniae Gupta, 1975, but differs from them in the relative lengths of setae D1, L2, and L3 being shorter, and also in the shape of spermatheca.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 6♀♀, Ruili County (24°N, 97°50ʼ E) Yunnan Province, 1. VI. 1981, host plant unknown, collected by Qian Xing. |
