| abstract | This paper describes three new species of the genus Typhlodromus Scheuten collected from Mt. Lushan (29°28ʼ N, 115°56ʼ E), China. The types of the species are deposited in the Biological Department, Jiangxi University.
Typhlodromus lushanensis sp. nov. (figs. 1-6)
This new species is near Typhlodromus serrulatus Ehara, 1972, but differs from the latter in its M2 stout and smooth; macrosetae on leg IV acuminate, fixed digit of chelicera having four teeth and in the shape of spermatheca and ventrianal shield.
Holotype ♀, 1. VII. 1982, by B. G. Jia on Platycladus orientalis (L.); paratype 1♀, data same as for holotype.
Typhlodromus gulingensis sp. nov. (figs. 7-14)
This species is close to Typhlodromus vulgaris Ehara, 1959, but differs from the latter in having seta L10, macroseta on genu IV shorter and seta M, equal to L8 in length. Further, this new species resembles T. meritus (Wainstein), 1978, but differs from the latter in the relative lengths of the setae on the dorsal shield, in the length of macrosetae on genu IV and tibia IV and in the shape of spermatheca.
Holotype ♀, 4. VII. 1982, by B. G. Jia on Pinus parviflora S. et Z. Allotype ♂ and paratypes 8♀♀ 2♂♂, same as for holotype.
Typhlodromus macroides sp. nov. (figs. 15-22)
The female of this new mite is close to Typhlodromus macrum Ke et Xin, 1983, but differs from the latter in the length of peritreme, in the relative lengths of setae on dorsal shield, in the placement of ventrianal pores and in the sternal shield having three pairs of setae. T. macroides is also close to T. samliensis (Chaudhri), 1975, but differs from the latter in the relative lengths of setae on dorsal shield, in the number of teeth on movable digit and in the shape of ventrianal shield.
Holotype ♀, 2. VII. 1982, by J. C. Zhou on Boehmeria nivea (L.) Gaud. Allotype ♂ and paratypes 5♀♀, same as for holotype. |
