abstractThe author investigated the Bdellidae and Cunaxidae families in Poland. She collected 829 samples from the whole country which comprised 2400 specimens belonging to 17 species of Bdellidae family and 9 species of Cunaxidae family.
Among the Bdellidae the following species are reported for the first time from Poland: Bdella dispar (Koch, 1839), B. iconica (Berlese, 1923), B. strandi (Berlese, 1923), Neomolgus paracapillatus n.sp., Odontoscirus iota (Atyeo, 1960), O. atyeoi n.sp., Bdellodes longirostris (Hermann, 1804); B. meridionalis (Thor, 1931), B. lapidaria (Kramer, 1881), Spinibdella reducta (Thor, 1931):
From the Cunaxidae family the following were new for Poland: Dactyloscirus inermis (Trägardh, 1905), D. rafalskii (Michocka, 1982), Cunaxoides kielczewskii (Michocka, 1982), Neocunaxoides andrei (Baker and Hoffmann, 1948), Scirula impressa (Berlese, 1888), Bonzia halacaroides (Oudemans, 1927).
The present work contains detailed morphological descriptions, drawings and keys for determination of the Polish species. Among the examined species, two are new for science.
