abstractThe present papaer deals with four species of the genus Ameroseius Berlesc collected from various parts of China. A. plumosoides, A. curvatus and A. multus are described as new to science, and A. pinicola Ishikawa is recorded for the first time from this country.
Ameroseius multus [sic! - read plumosoides] sp. nov. (figs. 1-7)
Holotype ♀ was collected on Apr. 4, 1984, off Rattus flavipectus Milne-Edwards, from Menglian County, 24.5° N, 98.8° E, Yunnan Province, and deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College.
This new species is distinguished from the closely related species Ameroseius plumosus Oudemans, 1902 by the following characters: the dorsal setae longer and softer, and with smooth margin; the dark plate on anterior part of sternal plate in particular shape; the genital plate shorter and wider; with two pairs of different shaped metapodal plates; the basal part of digitus fixus armed with five teeth.
Ameroseius curvatus sp. nov. (figs. 8-13)
Holotype ♀ was collected on Aug. 25, 1986, off Meriones meridianus Pallas, from Zhongning County, 27.4° N, 105.6° E, Ningxia Autonomous Region, and deposited in the Institute of Endemic Disease Control, Ningxia Autonomous Region.
The new species resembles Ameroseius elegans Bernhard, 1963, but may be differenciated in: dorsal setae of the new species longer and curved; tectum wider and arc-shaped; ventri-anal plate longer and much near to genital plate.
Ameroseius multus sp. nov. (figs. 14-17)
Holotype ♀ was collected on Aug. 29, 1986, off Meriones meridianus Pallas, and paratypes 3♀♀ on Aug. 27, 24 and Sept. 1, 1986, off Meriones meridianus, Mus musculinus Linnaeus and Cricetulus barabensis Pallas separately, all from Zhongning County, 17.4° N, 105.5° E, Ningxia Autonomous Region. All types are deposited in the Institute of Endemic Disease Control, Ningxia Autonomous Region, except one paratypc in the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College.
This species is near to Ameroseius delicatus Berlese, 1918, but its dorsal setae shorter and marginal serrations minute; preanal setae with greater distance off anterior margin of ventri-anal plate; tectum with lateral sides straight and central prong smaller.
