abstractThe present paper deals with a new species of Vulgarogamasus.
Vulgarogamasus ningxiaensis sp. nov. (figs. 1-17)
The new species is near to Vulgarogamasus qinghaiensis Gu et Yang, 1987, but the predominant characters different from the latter are: The anterio-Iateral angle of sternal plate is long and sickle-like, its end reaches the peritreme; the posterior margin of sternal plate is highly concave with its bottom over the level of St3. The lateral margin of ventro-anal plate has a concavity in the level of anterior margin of anus; Ad situates just infront the posterior level of anus. The central prong of tectum is shorter. The femur, genu, tibia and tarsus of leg II bear 2, 1, 2, 1 spinal setae respectively.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂ and paratypes 4♀♀ and 5 deutonymphs were collected on 20 Nov., 1987, from a den of Meles meles Linn. in Haiyuan. County (36.5° N, 105.6° E), Ning-xia Hui Autonomous Region, deposited in the Institute of Endemic Disease Control, Ningxia Autonomous Region.
