abstractTwo new genera of Pterolichidae are described from New World species of Crotophaga: the type species are Aniacarus mexicanus gen. et sp. nov. from specimens collected from the groove-billed ani (C. sulcirostris) in Veracruz, Mexico, in July 1941; and Aniibius drepanophorus gen. et sp. nov. from specimens collected from the smooth-billed ani (C. ani) in Trinidad in 1961 and from C. sulcirostris in Tampico, Mexico, in 1902.
