| abstract | In this paper a new genus and new species of Laelapidae Berlese is described and figured. The type specimen is kept in the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College.
Dianolaelaps gen. nov.
Generic diagnosis: Laelapidae. Large mites. Dorsal plate bearing 39 pairs of long setae. Female digitus mobilis of chela divided into 3 digits and with a tuft of setae at its base. Corniculi well developed, a groove on its inner side and with 3 prongs on it. Between the corniculi and hypopharynx, a specific structure at the anterior margin of hypostome, oval in shape and with a row of transparent teeth on its inner side. Salivary stylet rounded by a membranous structure. Genito-ventral plate bearing 4 pairs of setae. Coxae of legs I to III with one spur each, and on the distal margin of all coxae with linning small setae.
Type species: Dianolaelaps gryllus sp. nov.
