abstractUp to now only one species of the genus Lasioseius Berlese, L. confusus Evansi, 1958, has been recorded from China. In the present paper six species of Lasioseius are described and figured, all of them are new to science. The type specimens collected from Guizhou Province are deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College, and that from Shanxi Province are deposited in the Health and Anti-Epidemic Station of Shanxi Province.
Lasioseius spatulus Gu et Wang, sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)
Holotype ♀ collected off Rattus norvegicus in July, 1984, from Loudian County (25.4° N, 106.7° E), Guizhou Province.
This new species is allied to Lasioseius zerconoides Willmann, 1954, but the hind part of dorsal plate without punctate, dorsal setae smooth, bearing two pairs of metapodal plates and seta of palp femur spatulate.
Lasioseius paucispathus Gu et Wang, sp. nov. (figs, 6-8)
Holotype ♀ collected on Aug. 20, 1984, paratypes 6♀♀ on Aug. 19, 1984, all off Rattus norvegicus from Zhengyan County (27.0°N, 108.4°E), Guizhou Province.
This new species is near Lasioseius youcefi Athias-Henriot, 1959, but it bearing two more setal pairs on dorsal plate, S6 longer than M11, chitinized platelet behind genital plate threadlike, metapodal plates only one pair.
Lasioseius schizopilus Gu et Huang, sp. nov. (figs. 9-11)
Holotype ♀ collected off Rattus nitidus on May 3, 1984, from Shanyang County Manchuanguan (33.2° N, 110.0° E) Shaanxi Province.
This new species differs from all the known species of the genus by the setae on dorsal plate and hind venter splitting into two branches, metapodal plates in form of quadrangle, the hind portion of peritremal plate wider and with a longitudinal line.
Lasioseius qianensis Gu et Wang, sp. nov. (figs. 12-14)
Holotype ♀ collected off Apodemus agarius on Sep. 17, 1980, from Duyun City (26.2° N, 107.5° E); paratypes 3♀♀, 1♀ of them recorded same as the holotype, the other two collected off Rattus norvegicus on Nov. 14 and 16, 1982, from Zhenning County Huangguoshu (25.9° N, 105.6° E) Guizhou Province.
This new species is similar to Lasioseius scapulatus Kennett, 1958, but differs from the latter species by dorsal setae pilose but not cleft, tectum with 3 prongs, only 1 pair of metapodal plates, chitinized platelet behind genital plate thread-like.
Lasioseius punctatus Gu et Huang, sp. nov. (figs. 15-18)
Holotype ♀ collected off Apodemus sylvaticus on Aug. 17, 1982, from Taibai County Dadian (34.0° N, 107.3° E); paratype 1♀ off Apodemus speciosus on May 11, 1983, from Ningshan County (33.3° N, 108.3° E), Shaanxi Province.
This new species resembles Lasioseius analis Evans, 1953, but with particular ventro-anal plate, bearing 5 pairs of preanal setae, only one pair of metapodal plate, punctated on sternal and genital plates.
Lasioseius multispathus Gu et Huang, sp. nov. (figs. 19-21)
Holotype ♀ collected off Apodemus sylvaticus on Aug. 1, 1986, from Taibai County (34.0° N, 107.3° E) Shaanxi Province.
This new species differs from all the known species of the genus by the following comprehensive characters: with 5-6 pairs of metapodal plates, every ventro-Iateral setae and dorso-lateral setae on a small chitinized platlet with a chitinized area at the outer side of coxa I, punctated on presternal plate as well as on sternal and genital plate, ventri-anal plate very wide and bearing 6 pairs of preanal setae and a pair of pores.
