abstractThe present paper deals with a new genus, four new species and two new subspecies belonging to Rhyncaphytoptinae from China. All the type specimens are deposited in Nanjing Agricultural University.
Quadriporca Kuang et Chen, gen, nov.
Type species: Quadriporca mangiferae Kuang et Chen, sp. nov.
This new genus resembles Hyboderus Keifer (1975), but it differs from the latter in: (l) thanosome with 2 obvious dorsal-lateral ridges and 2 endo-lateral ridges composed of 12-15 tergites, (2) leg II with patellar setae, (3) female genitalia coverflap with a row of longitudinal ridges.
1. Quadriporca mangiferae Kuang et Chen, sp. nov. (figs. 1-6)
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 5♀♀, Hainan Province (19°12ʼ N, 109°42ʼ E), VII 4, 1987 collected by Chen Li-shen on Mangifera indica.
2. Peralox cudraniae Kuang et Hong, sp. nov. (figs. 7-11)
This new species is similar to P. insolita Keifer, but distinguished by the following characters; all longitudinal lines on the shield and form web marking, triangular microtubercles just Stead of the tergite rings, round microtubercles ahead of the sternite rings which are 47 in number, feather claw simple with 5 rays.
Holotype ♀ allotype ♂, paratypes 4♀♀, Yixin County, (31°18ʼ N, 119°48ʼ E), Jiangsu Province, VII 21, 1985, from Cudrania tricuspidata, by Kuang Haiyuan and Hong Xiaoyue.
3. Rhinophytoptus sorbariae Kuang et Hong, sp. nov. (figs. 12-16)
This new species is close to R. dudichi Farkas, but without median line, with incomplete admedian line and submedian line, with curved markings between dorsal tubercles, telosome comprised of 6 rings and accessory seta.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 2♀♀, Sheagnongjia forest ares (31°42ʼ N, 110°36ʼ E), Hubei Province, VII 25, 1986 collected by Hong Xiaoyue on Sorbaria sorbiforia.
4. Rhyncaphytoptus celtis Kuang et Hong, sp. nov. (figs. 17-22)
This new species allied to R. hoczeki Hall, but with 4 long cells drawing closely outside median line at the anterior of the shield, dorsal setae pointing forward, round microtubercles on tergites and featherclaw with 6 rays.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 4♀♀, Yixin County (31°18ʼ N, 119°48ʼ E), Jiangsu Province, VII 19, 1985 collected by Kuang Haiyuan and Hong Xiaoyue from Celtis tetrandra sinensis.
5. Rhyncaphytoptus ulmi chongqingensis kuang et Hong, ssp. nov.(figs. 23-24)
This new subspecies is very similar to R. ulmi Xin et Dong, but with two transverse lines between median line and admedian line, with arc marking between dorsal tubercles and inside submedian lines, and with arc or triangular microtubercles on the back fringe of tergites.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 10♀♀, Chongqing City (29°30ʼ N, 106°30ʼ E), Sichuan Province,IX, 1987, from Ulmus parvifolia, by Xing Yong.
6. Rhyncaphytoptus Inshanensis hupehensis Kuang et Hong, ssp. nov.
This new subspecies is very close to R. lushanensis Kuang et Zhao, but with round microtu-bercles on tergites, featherclaw being simple with 7-8 rays.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 35♀♀, Mt. Wudang (32°24ʼ N, 111° E), Hubei Province, VII, 1986 and Yixin County (31°18ʼ N, 119°48ʼ E), Jiangsu Province, VII, 1985, collected by Hong Xiaoyue; Chongqing City (29°30ʼ N, 106°30ʼ E), Sichuan Province, IX, 1987, collected by Xing Yong, all from Platanus orientalis.
