| abstract | Prior to the present study only two species of phytoseiid mites, Amblyseius shukuius Chen et Chu, and Typhlodromus xiningensis Chen et Chu, were recorded from Qinghai and Gansu Provinces. This paper is based on a collection made in these two provinces in 1985. Types are deposited in the Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
1. Amblyseius qinghaiensis sp. nov. (fig. 1)
Similar to Amblyseius rademacheri Dosse, but differs from the latter in having the smooth dorsal shield, and in having three teeth on the movable digit.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 2♀♀, Datong County (37° N, 102° E), Qinghai Province, 1985. VIII. 20, on undetermined plant.
2. Amblyseius longimedius sp. nov. (fig. 2)
This new species is closely related to Amblyseius lenis Corpuz et Rimando, but can be distinguished from the latter by having the seta D5 on the dorsal shield. This species is also similar to A. cinctus Corpuz et Rimando, but differs from the latter in the absence of knotted band on the cervix of spermatheca, and in the basitarsus macroseta much longer than the genu macroseta.
Holotype ♀, paratype 1♀, Datong County (37° N, 102° E), Qinghai Province, 1985. VIII. 20, on undetermined plant.
3. Typhlodromus datongensis sp. nov. (fig. 3)
Closely allied to Typhlodromus chinensis Ehara et Lee, distinguished chiefly by presence of traverse line of ventrianal shield and the teeth number of fixed digit. It also resembles T. taishanensis Wang et Xu, but differs from the latter in having three teeth on movable digit, and in the length of the peritreme.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 2♀♀, Datong County (37° N, 102° E), Qinghai Province, 1985. VIII. 20, on undetermined plant.
4. Typhlodromus zhangyensis sp. nov. (fig. 4)
Closely resembles Typhlodromua inopinatus Wainstein, but the latter differs from the new species in having the longer peritreme, reaching the seta L2, and a pair of barbed M2. T. zhangyensis is also similar to T. kettanehi Dosse and T. torbatejamae Danmark et Daneshvar, but is distinguished from them by having a pair of pores on the ventrianal scutum and by the teeth number on the fixed digit.
Holotype ♀, paratypes 5♀♀, Zhangye City (39° N, 100° E), Gansu Province, 1984. IX. ?. on Malus pumila Mill, collected by Wu Guanyi.
5. Typhlodromus hibernus sp. nov. (fig. 5)
Among the species group of Typhlodromus rickeri, this new species closely related to T. cannabis Ke et Xin, but differs from the latter in the relative length of setae L2 and L4, and in the teeth number on movable digit.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 1♀, 1♂, Yuzhong County (36° N, 104° E), Gansu Province, 1985. VIII. 27, on Quercus sp. |
