abstractIn the autumn of 1984, some phytoseiid mites were collected by the authors from North China. Among them two are new species belonging to the genus Typhlodromus, and two are Chinese new records belonging to the genus Amblyseius. Types of all new species are kept in the Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
1. Typhlodromus monosetus sp. nov (fig. l)
In the genus Typhlodromus, this new species is very unique. Its ventrianal shield is oval. Preanal setae only two pairs. Preanal pores lacking. These characters can be used to distinguish the new species from the others recorded in the literatures.
Holotype ♀, Paratype 1♀, Mt. Changbai (42° N, 128° E), Jilin Province, 1984. VIII. 16, on Acer truncatum Bunge.
2. Typhlodromus qianshanensis Wu 1988 (fig. 2)
Typhlodromus qianhanensis Wu was described from female. The male is decribed in this paper for the first time.
3. Typhlodromus concavus sp. nov. (fig. 3)
This new species is similar to Typhlodromus shibai, but differs from the latter in the shape of the posterior margin of sternal shield, in the presence of preanal pores, and in the number of movable digit teeth.
Holotype ♀, Mt. Taishan, (36° N, 117° E,) Shandong Province, 1984. X. 4, on Morus alba Linn., Allotype ♂, Penglei (38° N, 121° E), Shandong Province, 1984. IX. 29, on Wisteria sinensis Sweet. Paratypes 2♀♀, data same as for holotype.
