| abstract | The present paper deals with a new species of Qinghailaelaps. This new species is named after Gu Yi-Ming, Professor of the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College, to thank him for his cordial help during so many years.
Qinghailaelaps gui sp. nov (figs. 1-8)
The new species is close to Qinghailaelaps marmotae Gu et Yang, 1984, but may be differenciated by the following characters: Of the dorsal plate setae those on propodosoma, except F2, distinctly thicker and longer than those on hysterosoma; the distance between genito-ventral and anal plate about 2 times of the length of the anus; bare portion of ventral part bearing 95 setal pairs; parasitic on Bombus sp.
Holotype ♀ and paratypes 2♀♀ were colleced on June 15-16, 1987. 2♀♀ on Aug. 5 and 9, 1987, all off Bombus sp., From Haiyuan County (36.2° N, 105.6° E), Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. One paratype is deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College and the other types are deposited in the Ningxia Institute of Endemic Disease Control, Yinchuan. |
