abstractThree new species of spinturnicid mites (Spinturnix delacruzi, Ancystropus aequatorialis, and Paraperiglischrus ruber) are described from specimens collected on african bats. S. delacruzi is unique in having one pair of setae and one pair of pores on the sternal shield of the female; A. aequatorialis is easily recognizable by the presence of a tritosternum longer than broad, together with severe modifications for clasping in the leg I; P. ruber displays unique features for the genus in the sternal plate.
