| abstract | As part of continuing studies of the rheophilous water mites of permanent streams of the Córdoba hills the genus Corticacarus Lundblad, 1936 is treated here. The previously unknown male of Corticacarus (Paracorticacarus) brassanus Cook, 1980 and a new species Corticacarus (Paracorticacarus) copinae are desribed; the morphologic characteristics, measurements and the known geographic distribution of the two species are given. The diagnosis of the male of brassanus and both sexes of copinae n.sp. are included and compared with other neotropical species. |
