abstractThe present paper deals with two species of the genus Proctolaelaps Berlese collected from Ningxia. All the specimens are deposited in the Institute of Endemic Disease Control, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Proctolaelaps yinchuanensis sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)
The new species is near to Proctolaelaps scolyti Evans, 1958, but differs from the latter in: the dorsal shield with 43 pairs of setae, the length of M11 four times as S8; the tectum with three prongs as shown in fig. 3; fixed digit with three prominent teeth; the naked venter with 10-12 pairs of setae.
Holotype ♀, Paratypes 4♀♀ were collected on July 29-31, 1988, off Potosia brevitarsis Lewis, all from Yinchuan suburb (38.5° N, 106.3° E), Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region by Bai Xue-li.
Proctolaelaps cossi (Duges, 1834)
The first record in China. 41 females and 3 deutonymphs were collected in July-Aug., 1988, off Potosia brevitarsis Lewis, all from Yinchuan suburb, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
