| abstract | Paraproctolaelaps zhongweiensis sp. nov. (figs. 1-4)
Holotype ♀ was collected on May 8, 1989, off Apis sp., from Zhongwei County (37.5° N, 105.1° E), Ningxia Autonomous Region, deposited in the Institute of Endemic Disease Control, Ningxia Autonomous Region.
This is the first record of the genus Paraproctolaelaps from China. The new species differs from Paraproctolaelaps intermedius Athias-Henriot, 1959 in the following characters: 1) dorsal setae longer, its tip passing over the base of the next; 2) posterior margin of sternal plate more concave; 3) genital plate closed to ventrianal plate and without platelet between them; 4) ventrianal plate different in shape; 5) PA obviously longer than Ad. |
