| abstract | Androlaelaps euryplatamus sp. nov.(figs. 1-5)
This new species near to Androlaelaps pavlovskii Bregetova, 1955, but differs from the latter in the following characters: In this species there are 2-3 pairs of setae on the genito-ventral plate but only 2 pairs of setae in the latter. Peritrematal plate in this species is very wide and not in the latter. The distance between genitoventral plate and anal plate is longer than the diameter of anus in this species but it is shorter than that in the latter. The new species have 7 spiniform setae in the tarsus of leg 11.
Holotype female and paratypes 26 females were colleced off the nest of Passer montanus Linne, on May 19, 1986 from Guinan County (35°21ʼ N, 100°59ʼ E), Qinghai Province. The types are deposited in the Institute for Endemic Disease Control of Qinghai Province and the Department of Parasitology, Guiyang Medical College, Guizhou Province. |
