abstractLobohalacarus weberi tristanensis subsp.nov., found on Inaccessible, Tristan da Cunha Islands, is described and compared with populations of L. weberi weberi (Romijn and Viets) from Europe. Representatives of the Lobohalacarus weberi complex primarily inhabit subterranean waters. A short survey of species and subspecies of the L. weberi complex is given and means of dispersal to Inaccessible Island are discussed.
