abstractBuprestapolipus megachelus n. g., n. sp. (Acari: Podapolipidae) is described from Euchroma gigantea L. (Buprestidae) from Prov. Heredia, Costa Rica. Buprestapolipus is compared with related podapolipid genera in which a middorsal aedeagus exists in males and in which adult females have 2 pairs of legs. This is the first record of podapolipid mites from buprestid beetles.
