abstractBeer (1954) eracted the genus Xenotarsonemus with X. virdis (Ewing, 1939) as type species. In this paper a new species X. sensus sp. nov. is described. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Plant Protection, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
Xenotarsonemus sensus, sp. nov. (figs. 1-2)
This new species is similar to X. viridis (Ewing, 1939). It differs from the latter in sensory club "ω" of tarsus II coarse, setae vʼTi of tibiolarsus IV very long in the male; Its female can be distinguished from X. viridis by pseudostigmatic organ shuttle, vertical setae longer than scapular setae. Holotype (male), Allotype (female), and Paratypes 2 males, 80 females, 23. viii. 1994, collected on the fall foliage of banyan Ficus retusa L. Jiangtian, Changle county of Fuzhou, China.
