abstractA new species of the genus Tenuipalpus is described and figured in this paper.
Tenuipalpus zhengzhouensis sp.nov. (figs. 1-3)
This new species resembles the Tenuipalpus muguanicus Ma and Yuan, 1980, but it differs from the latter in the shape of the genital plate especially the arclike anterior margin, the two feathery setae on the ventral side of the tibia of legs I-IV, and the feathery setae on the tarsi of legs III-IV.
Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 3♀♀ were collected by Xu Guoqing from Magnolia denudata on July 5, 1988 from Zhengzhou City (34.9° N, 113.6° E), Henan Province. All type specimens are deposited in the Department of Plant Protection, Shenyang Agricultural University.
