| abstract | 4343 specimens of oribatid mites from Gran Ganaria (Canary Islands) are studied. they belong to 65 species from which 6 are new for the Science, namely: Steganacarus (Steganacarus) guanarteme, Hermannia canariensis, Multioppia canariensis, Oribatula incerta, Lauritzenia (Incabates) atlantica and Haplozetes (Mixobates) insularis; two new subspecies are described: Subbelba elisae Pérez-Iñigo, 1972 grancanariae n. subsp. y Carabodes pulcher Bernini, 1976 occidentalis n. subsp.; some comments are made on morphologicalf features and biogeographical data; the genus Lasiobelba Aoki, 1959 is divided into two subgenera: Lasiobelba s. str. and Antennoppia Mahunka, 1983. |
