| abstract | Five new species are described: 1) Calyptophthiracarus maritimus sp, showing vertical interlamellar setae, short and lanceolate sensilli and without notogastral neotrichy; 2) Steganacarus insulanus sp, with long sensilli provided with a double row of minute barbs, reduced lamellar setae and the interlamellar ones straight and barbed, notogaster with straight, long and smooth setae and anal, ad1 and ad2 setae strongly arched; 3) Carabodes azorensis sp, with wide cervical hole, short sensilli, posterior edge of prodorsum with five arches and a peculiar sculpturing on notogaster; 4) Ommatocepheus parvilamellatus sp, with very short and narrow lamellae, placed near the rostral edge; and 5) Peloptulus borgesi sp, that shows a quadrangular rostral margin, short sensilli with broad spatulate head, interlamellar area narrow and notogastral setae long and thick. |
