abstractA new feather mite species of the genus Chiasmalges Gaud & Atyeo, associated with the green conure Aratinga holochlora (Sclater), is descried from material collected on the Socorro Island, in the Revillagigedo Archipelago; in the Mexican States of Tamaulipas, Veracruz and chiapas; and in localities in guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras. The taxonomic study, based on 279 specimens, includes the description of the complete developmental series. Chiasmalges anahoffmannae sp.nov. and Chiasmalges polyplectrus Gaud & Atyeo are the only named species of this genus and both occur on the same host, Aratingia holochlora, throughout its distribution.
