abstractFive new species in the family Caligonellidae from the Hawaiian Islands are described and illustrated: Coptocheles nakaharai n. sp., C. kalapanensis n. sp., C. solanii n. sp., Molothrognathus colei, n. sp., and M. conantae n. sp. The genus Molothrognathus and Neognathus spectabilis Summers & Schlinger, 1955, are reported from the islands for the first time. A key to the genera and species of Hawaiian caligonellids and some discussions on the morphology, biology, ecology, and distribution of the caligonellids are included.
