| abstract | Three new species viz. Favognathus variabilis n. sp., F. goffi, n. sp. and F. distinctus n. sp. from the Hawaiian Islands are described and illustrated. A key to the Hawaiian species, and ecological and distribution data are included. Favognathus pictus Summers & Chaudhri, 1965 is recorded for the first time from the Hawaiian Islands. Two species are transferred from Cryptognathus to Favognathus: Favognathus texasensis (McDaniel and Bolen, 1979), comb. nov. and Favognathus dakotaensis (McDaniel and Bolen, 1979), comb. nov. |
