abstractTen new species of chiggers are described from specimens collected from bat hosts on Leyte and Negros Islands, Philippines. Comments on the genera are provided. The new species are: Cheladonta (Susa) chiropteraphilus sp. nov., Chiroptella (Neosomia) heidemani sp. nov., Diplectria manjuyodensis sp. nov., Microtrombicula (M.) megaderma sp. nov., M. (M.) octaintercoxalaea sp. nov., Myotrombicula (M.) armigera sp. nov., M. (M.) oconnori sp. nov., Rudnicula hexasternalaea sp. nov., Sasatrombicula leegoffi sp. nov. and Trombigastia tehminae sp. nov. The bat hosts reported in this paper included Emballonura alecto, Eonycteris spelaea, Megaderma spasma, Ptenochirus minor, Rhinolophus arcuatus, R. inops, R. virgo, Rousettus amplexicaudatus, Taphozousmelanopogon and T. melanopogon philippinensis.
