| abstract | The new genus and species, Acaciacarus paradoxus Gerson, Frost & Swift, are described from Acacia iteaphylla collected in South Australia. It differs from other genera in the family Eupalopsellidae by having very long dorsal setae, a bulbous postocular body apparently set on a stalk, and by secreting yellowish fluffy threads on its dorsum. Although possessing unique features, for the present this new genus is retained in the family Eupalopsellidae. |
