| abstract | Two new species of podapolipid mites, Eutarsopolipus lindquisti Husband and E. quebecensis Husband are described and illustrated. E. lindquisti n. sp. collected from Agonum extensicole Say is compared with species of Eutarsopolipus in the biunguis group and related taxa. E. quebeceims n. sp. collected from Ptersostichus lucublandus Say is compared with species of Eutarsopolipus in the mijzus group and related taxa. These are the 1st records of Eutarsopolipus from Canada. Keys to genera and species of podapolipid mites associated with carabid beetles in the Western Hemisphere are provided. |
